We Love Your Creativity #9 – Nudity
Naked photos immediately catch people’s interests. There’s sort of an element like you are doing something wrong. In general, people need to be more accepting and shouldn’t immediately classify a nude photography as vulgar and tasteless. Flaws are what make people interesting. When I see these photos it makes me respect the models. That’s why they are inspiring to me.

“Photography means that I can be myself! It means that I can not only make sense of all those ideas in my head but also be involved with fashion. I can create those images I see when I close my eyes! I can be different. I suppose I was never your normal child… always reading the fashion magazines over other childhood books, never playing in the park, and rather playing with my camera. I was hooked from a very young age! Then about 18 months ago my father paid a model to model for me. That’s when everything felt right! My love of fashion and photography became one! It was then and there that I knew what I wanted to do! Hopefully, one day it will mean that I can shoot for our major fashion icons!”

A lot of people are scared to enjoy art that incorporates nudity. When is it pornography and when is it art? The truth is, the human body is a wonderful and beautiful thing. When captured in the right light it is most definitely art! If the artist or photographer is focusing on the beauty of the body, intimacy, or making a statement it is art. It is easy to determine if the purpose of the composition is just SEX. Art can be sexy and that doesn’t necessarily make it pornography. Need clarification? I have always been a fan of black and white photography, but there are instances where it makes or breaks a picture. After looking at his work I get that deep, almost depressed feeling that one only gets when they realize that they are indeed alive.

Ben Tour uses a sort of messy art style that goes right to the heart. Although his portraits often seem to fade into white space, they seem so raw and real. Notice how he effectively lets your imagination create the rest of the work. I am never overwhelmed by his art, except by emotion. All artists could learn a thing or two from Ben Tour.
