mood improv 2 – joy
The purpose of a mood improv is to let go and let your music reflect what you are feeling inside. Simply turn on the camera and start playing. It helps when you don’t look at the camera or think about what you are doing. It’s not about playing well or composing something beautiful. It’s an honest expression. Do not try and impress.
How to Live a Creative Life and Succeed
So you are an artist? Musician? Poet? Mad scientist? Whatever. It doesn’t really matter. You deserve the chance to live a creative life, succeed, and be happy (because that’s important, I promise). Obviously creativity is not about money, fame, or success. However, I would love to see every artist in the Nonsense Society live off their passion. This article will help you get there.

So how do you succeed? You need to know how to deal with people. You need to learn how to portray an attitude that attracts opportunity. In this particular article, I’d like to refer to one of my favorite books of all time: How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie. The book has long been considered one of the best self-help books ever written. Unfortunately, it is often marketed as a book for businesspeople. In reality, it can help anyone. I am writing this article as a supplementary resource geared toward you creative-types. I have picked several chapter titles’ in the book to talk about.
Don’t criticize, condemn or complain.
Stop complaining. Don’t complain about your life, your art, or anybody else. The most impressive people I have ever met are the most self-assured and accepting people.

The less you complain about circumstances and people, the less people will complain about you. If you are an artist (of any kind) you know how much criticism can hurt. React to this by simply not participating in it. People tell me I sucks all the time! For a while I tried to argue back, but it never made me feel good. You will find that by letting go, you feel great (and other people will see you as great).

2009 Hall of Fame
2009 has been an amazing year for the Nonsense Society. Thanks to all who have supported it and watched it grow. With a redesign within touching distance, the Society is poised and ready to bring new artists, authors, musicians, and filmmakers into it’s ranks. We love your creativity. We want to help you grow. 2010 is set to be a spectacular year, but first let’s look back at the best of 2009. Enjoy.

An Interview With Yoann Lemoine
I recently interviewed filmmaker/director/photographer Yoann Lemoine. Prior to 2004 Yoann studied animation, illustration, and screen-printing. After illustrating children’s books he went on to direct television commercials and music videos. Below you can watch the music video to Moby’s new single “Mistake” from the album Wait For Me, directed by Yoann Lemoine. He lives in Paris and New York, directing films, animating, illustrating, printing, sculpting, knitting, and making collages. Yoann describes his work as follows: “I could say my creations are related to subjects such as childhood, absence, nostalgia, sexuality, fashion, symbolism, and of course that patchwork, that collision between different worlds and techniques, which is what I’m made from, I guess.”
