Introducing August: An Upcoming Social Tool for Creators and Consumers of Creativity

We’re proud to be one of the first in the world to get a close look at an amazing new mobile tool for creators and consumers. August is a mobile application aimed at connecting you (the creator) directly to the consumers who are craving your work. With August’s release on the horizon, it just may be the network that creators have been looking for.

The folks at August contacted us recently for some input about the platform and to take a look at what they’ve been working on. It’s definitely one of the most impressive and beautiful proposals we’ve seen in a while and we’re happy to be one of the first to know about it. Keep your eyes open for the release of August in the near future. Here’s what we’re looking forward to trying when August is released:

1. A centralized way to connect creators to consumers

The developers at August created the platform with creators in mind. August will be aimed at directly connecting the creators to the consumers they are struggling to attract. This is not a niche network or elitist curation zone. This is different.

2. A simply beautiful platform

With endless competition in the market, we all want the best looking, smoothest, and slickest applications in our hands. We want to be able to show our phone to everyone we know and say, “Have you seen this?” August is that thing.

3. Seamless integration with other networks

It’s such a hassle posting your work to every different network out there. In fact, it’s nearly impossible. It’s overwhelming not knowing which networks are worth your time. We love the idea that August promises to make it easy to share your content to all your favorite networks from one place.

4. Thoughtful analytics about what you’re sharing

No more shots in the dark. You want to know how your work is being shared, how often, from where, and by who. August will offer beautifully presented (and insightful) analytics for you to help grow your audience and point it in the right direction.

5. Awesome profiles and collections of your work

The process of setting up a gorgeous account will be easy and fun. Looking at the pictures August sent us, it’s hard to believe anyone could create an account that doesn’t look good. Check it out:

6. Share your work to people who want to enjoy it

August is looking to lead the market as a platform with beautiful art, music, and word displays that will keep artists flocking to the application. You can see for yourself how good it looks. The process is simple. Upload work directly from your phone. Larger works can be uploaded easily from their website (once it launches).

7. Share and curate your own collection of interests

Much like Pinterest (but for more than just visual art), August will allow you to curate your own collection of shared works by your favorite artists. You’ll likely see your own work floating around as favorites from others. Additionally, you’ll be able to follow artists that you love.

That’s it! We can’t wait to try August. We bet you can’t either. If you’re interested in the platform, go to their website and sign up to get updates as the release draws near.

What would you like to get out of August?

Be one of the first involved! Our friend Sean from August is looking for feedback, impressions, suggestions, and thoughts. If you have the time, send him an email (sean@augustmedia.co) and tell him what you’d like to see from the platform. He’ll be happy to answer any questions as well.
