This Is Iraq, Award-Winning Short Film by Chris Collins
“Chris Collins’ film, This Is Iraq, is a haunting and challenging look at one person’s experience in Iraq. This Is Iraq chronicles the war in Iraq just as A Red Badge of Courage chronicled a soldier’s experience in the Civil War. It’s direct, hard-hitting, and real.”

I made this film with the help of Sgt. Jeff Pelletier back in 2008. It premiered in Hartford, won awards, and attracted a lot of attention. Some of the attention, however, was quite bad. This caused the film to remain hidden on my hard-drive for nearly two years. Today I am releasing my work to the world. Do your worst. I did not create this film to be a documentary. I did not portray my opinions on war. Instead, this film is an artistic interpretation of war from one person’s point of view. I want it to rip your heart out and make you think. I want it to disgust you and inspire you at the same time. All of this footage is 100% real. Viewer discretion is advised. It will disturb you. I want it to disturb you. That being said, I think you should watch it. It is something everyone should see at some point.
