photoBOOST: Photoshop Curve “sad” (download)

Photography is more than just taking a picture. Editing is key and curves are probably the best way to do it. Manipulating curves in photoshop without help can be quite intimidating, but no worries! “photoBOOST” is a new series that provides resources for the aspiring artist/photographer. The following is a quick download that will immediately transform your photos. This curve can be applied to any photo for a slightly different effect. Feel free to play around with any of the Nonsense Society curves, learn, and try making your own. In fact! – send some of your curves to me and I might even share them with the world!

If you browse through the Nonsense Society gallery, you will find that our photographers convey intense emotions through their images. Curves can help you do that. This particular curve makes everything feel quite sad to me. No?

It’s Really Easy (promise)

  1. Download “sad.acv”
  2. Put “sad.acv” in a folder (put all curves here)
  3. Open your picture in photoshop
  4. click on Image>Adjustments>Curves
  5. To the right of the “preset” menu should be a little box. Click it.
  6. Select “Load Preset”
  7. Select “sad.acv” from whatever folder you put it in
  8. Hit OK!

This is how it works on a Mac. If you use Windows, it should be pretty much the same…

Any problems? Let me know.
